... been a tad more life threatening, but this trail was downright abusive to your body. Colby slammed his head into the window more than once, Hunter says that his kidneys are bruised and lets just say that Kristi should have worn a sports bra. I went on like this for hours before finally reaching the mill. I am not sure everyone in the car on that day would agree with me, but it was totally worth it. The mill was the ...

... there we drove to the Rocky Mountain National Park. We didn't have any specific plans, and the ranger at the visitor's center suggested we drive all the way through the park rather than around it. She seemed to be happy the road was open the entire way, so we took her advice.

We headed to Aspen early in the morning. It was our attempt to see some wildlife. Well the scenery was beautiful but we didn't see any wildlife. We stopped off at a scenic overlook of the San Juan mountains. In addition to the mountains we also seen the large reservoir. No real roads to get to the lake, you have to do some off roading.

We arrived in Aspen at about 11am. We visited the John Denver Sanctuary. As a kid, ...

... snow views in a snowstorm - spectacular!!! This is the "Top of the Rockies", for Colorado anyway.

Then descended the other side, to Aspen. Elegant ski town, reminded us of Park City in Utah and Noosa in Qld. A guy we talked to told us the billionaires had pushed the millionaires out of Aspen!

After a walk around, drove up a beautiful red sandstone canyon to Ruedi Resevoir, outside Basalt. Lovely camp fire and great spot, so ...
