... lions to be released. Unfortunately the opera only performs from late June through late October so we could not take in a show this time but as Mary and I waited for the train to take us back to Florence we vowed we would come back to Verona to see the opera and everything else we missed this time.
Well our journey is nearly over, only one more day in Florence and then two in Rome before heading home. We hope you all stay tuned for the end.

... to upgrade our hire car to a Classic Italian Alfa Romeo Giuletta ( or similar) was a complete wast of time and we ended up with a citroen C3 Picasso. Not at all similar !! I will be taking this up with the hire company on our return. Other than that it has been a fantastic ten days which as Kate keeps on reminding me was all booked by her.... Except the car hire! Well believe it or not Mary and I have been craving sushi for the last several days and we think we may have found a sushi restaurant here. We're going to check it out for dinner tonight. We're not sure what we'll find in a sushi restaurant in Verona, Italy so stay tuned.

We left Florence on the 9:35 Alta Veloce (highest speed) train to Verona this morning. We made it in a stunning 90 minutes including a stop in Bologna; now that's a fast trip. Also Mary and I had 4 seats facing each other all to ourselves for almost the entire trip. It was the nicest train ride we've been on yet.

We said goodbye to the baby sitters, Uncle Anthony (Jungle Gym) and Aunty Tracy (Just a Girl). They went to Florence for 4 days, Tuscany region. Thanks again to them for popping round to baby sit. We did some washing and then went to the pool for a dip, managed to get an early afternoon nap in with the boys. It is extremely hot in Italy Cheryl. ...
