So, I've officially moved to The Alps for around 6 months. It is so cold I can't even believe it and there is no snow. ... it allowed us to gather things without having to be concerned about weight or the limiting size of our bags, now the car is gone we have to get back to 23kg per bag and 7kg for each piece of hand luggage. Next week we head off to Geneva en route to Russia, so we'll need to have it all sorted out by then.

Sam and Amandine were in the apartment in Chamonix, and through various text messages, we organised for us to stand at the top of the highest terrace and wave to them while they looked through the telescope. They could see us waving, and Sam managed to take a photo through the telescope of us all on top of the Aiguille Du Midi!!

... The sound was intense as it cut through the stillness and silence of the place. We ate lunch at the railway station, still in awe of what we had just done.
After exploring the historic hotel and it's museum, we caught the cog railway back down the mountain. Sam and Amandine joined us back at the apartment, and we went to a lovely Italian restaurant for dinner (we figured we weren't far from the Italian border!).
