Drove up to Aspen to see Richard Ford my grandson. Had dinner and walked around Aspen went to bed and drove back to Centenial to stay with her until Tuesday Morning.
Richard showed us around the town. Richard knows at least a dozen beautiful girls who we met around Aspen.
... Salt Lake and skiing, wow was I mistaken. We went through red rock mountains worthy of Sedona. Vista upon vista of beautiful views. Again I know our pictures, all taken by Mary from the car, won't do them justice.
Then we entered Colorado, which looked like Utah until we entered the ski resort areas. Now I know this is beautiful country in the winter but oh my, how gorgeous it also is in the summer.
That brings us back to Beaver Creek ...
... adorable, charming town. The town was pretty crowded due to all of the people coming to see the fireworks at night. We went to an awesome ice cream store for dessert and heard a lot of musicians from the Aspen music school performing in the streets for money. Was fun. Then, when it was dark, we went to the rugby field and sat with everyone else on blankets to watch the fireworks. Was a wonderful ...
... stayed back at the 'lodge' with her, while Pepijn and Jordan rented their own ATV's. Jordan was supposed to be 16 to drive his own - but they let him take out his own (since he lied to them and said he was 16)!! They only rented the ATV's for 1 hour - when they came back, Jordan said "Can't we just rent them for the entire day" - they both had a blast!!! Their faces were filthy with dirt but they ...
... is now a Costco and a Walmart and the development on the way to Aspen was solid all the way to Basalt. Golf courses and condominium developments everywhere. We counted more than 50 private jets at the Aspen Air and knew the town would be crowded. All of the two story smaller motels along the highway near Buttermilk no longer existed or were now employee housing. ...
