... Cuban restaurant which was great food was amazing - had white fish rice and plantain, but the measure of rum for dessert topped of the meal! It was also nice to drink wine for a change. ... ZOO! It's not just any zoo, but a huge one called the Miami Metro Zoo. We spent about five hours wandering from Asia to Africa and several areas in between. We saw things that some of us had never seen and some things that were old animal friends. Of course, the giraffes and elephants still hold my heart.

Walking down to the boardwalk in the morning to have my coffee on the beach was a beautiful way to start any morning, and the location of the hostel midway up the beach gave me some space away from the south beach crowds. Awsome way to start a winter holiday.
