... freezing. That's with the full complement of beanies, gloves, scarves (and thermals for some). Couldn't get to our ferry stop soon enough. Found the hotel, beautiful, and warm and cosy in minutes. Settled in quickly, and then all desperately hungry, so headed off with directions from reception, to a nearby restaurant strip. Arrived to find most of the places closed. Not sure if it's Boxing Day closure or just too early (only just 5 o'clock). Asked ...

Our travels took us from Manarola to La Spezia, La Spezia to Pisa, Pisa to Florence (it was good to be back!), and Florence to Venice.

Our day started early, since the ...

There weren't very many sentences being formed and walking wasn't her priority. This one guy Caleb (New York) came and talked to us because he was there all alone. The bars close in Venice close early, so we just headed home. I guess bars aren't allowed to play music after a certain hour or they will get ...

... where I had stayed previously, to a shop we saw offering fish pedicures. To my surprise Kevin was quite keen to try one - I guess a few hours on your feet in the heat makes any sort of foot treatment seem appealing! So, with jandals off and feet washed, its in to the aquarium where the hundreds of tiny scavenger fish - garra rufa - are used to clean and exfoliate your skin. They feel like tiny electric shocks and after a few minutes there is a feeling similar ...
