On a positive note we saw Picasso's painting Guernica which is actually more of a mural than a painting. He painted it after the German and Italians bombed the small northern town of Guernica to test their bombing strategies pre WWII. The painting is quite abstract (Picasso) but you quickly see the point of the horrible collateral damage of warfare.

The Prado Museum itself was magnificent and very manageable. We can't do long hauls in museums so ...

Everyone told us not to bother taking a map, seeing as the "roads" are made up of thousands of small foot bridges, they're often incorrect and not sign posted.
