A nice modern apartment, that's comfortable and functional. Location is handy to everything, especially Galeries Lafayette, the Citadium and train stations.

After a short sleep-in this morning, it was time to experience some kid time at Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney Studios, two parks about 45 minutes by train from Paris. We made our way to Auber station on the RER A line to catch the train to Marne-la-Vallee Chessy. Fortunately, Auber is only two blocks from our hotel which made it easy, and the …

This morning we set off on foot through the streets of Paris on our way to our pre-booked Eiffel Tower tour. Staying in the Opera district means that it's about a 30 minute walk to the tower, with the advantage of seeing some of the famous monuments close up as we walk by including Madeleine Church, Place de la Concorde (better known as Harmony …

      • Went to the Eiffel tower in the evening, the line is a good 1 hour, and went to the top, to enjoy a nice panoramic view from the top of the tower.

      • Paris was my first stop on the trip, so I was still getting myself tuned to exploring cities effecitiently with maps, no phone/data on the go, planning out the things to visit, yada yada.

Starting today off we got up at 7, to be ready to go by 8:30. Today we had to move hostels, so we headed off with all of our luggage and got on the metro. We had seven stops before we had to change lines, and Claire ...

... to make eye contact (or God forbid, you smile) at a stranger on the metro, if its a man ......he’ll think you’re a crazy, and if its a woman ..... she’ll think you’re trying to pick her up!

        Moral of the story
So if you want to appear like a "veritable" Parisien in France - stay slim, dress fashionably, avoid eye-contact with people, dangle a cigarette from your lips.. and speak to the tourists in English!
