Finally they needed to leave to start the train trip back east, so we said our goodbyes, until the fall festivals, and we headed back to our hotel. We chatted with the taxi driver about the music festival. He said the beer really flows on this night. We asked about how that impacted him as a driver. He said he really fears girls. ... decided. The trip back to the hotel along the Champs Elysses was chaotic, with carloads of fans tooting and screaming. Along the footpath was a contingent of riot police, in full kit and batons drawn. The taxi driver also sang me his birthday wishes, and was a nice distraction from the rising tensions on the Champs Elysses.
Even as I write, I can hear crackers going off and Police sirens blaring.All this before the major VE celebrations tomorrow!
... and the boys were getting quite tired, so we decided to catch the metro home after such a great day. We went for dinner at a restaurant in our street, and mum and I had the Duck Confit (which was divine!), and dessert was Creme Brûlée. Amazing. The boys were so tired that they hardly ate any dinner and fell asleep at the table! The waiters thought it was quite hilarious that the Australian boys couldn't stay awake for dinner. ... Ally when she came out. After this we needed to find the bathroom because apparently the ride was very scary and very bumpy! After abit more of a wander around, we headed over to Fantasyland where we saw lots of the Disney characters. We got lost in a Maze, met the Mad Hatter and had a float through Its a Small World'.
