    ... evening we had a super night with Cousin Dan and Sheila in their very nice village of Scotch Corner (I think a population of 350). After very sad good byes we are now back in Chamonix. It's always hard leaving Aunty Chris and Neville. Interesting for us, Chamonix felt like "coming home". The snow is further down the mountain, the trees are all golden and we are now off to watch NZ v Australia in the Grand Final. Go the Mighty All Blacks. ...

    ... br> According to our guide book, the excellent 'Cycling in the French Alps' by Paul Henderson, the next few stages through the Haute Alpes will be busy too, so we'd better get used to it. Hopefully there will be fewer white vans haring around over the weekend.

    Most of the landscape is green and lush on this section - I guess it's not called the Vallée Verte for nothing. There is a lot of cycling in wooded areas, we're not that high yet.

    Flight from Stockholm's Arlandar airport to geneva. Quite confusing our hire car was in the French Sector.....2 countries, a border and share airport .arghhhhhhhh Drove to our accomadation.
