Adventures with Fifi along the Gorge and to Arles

... more. There was a pretty waterfall we both went into while our paddle boat floated a bit away on us. The water was like none other, never have I seen such a blue lake and felt such silky soft water (it's the only way to describe it). After a couple hours paddling around till the end of the safe zone for our boat we returned it and swam some more. Eventually it was time to leave this paradise behind, get in the Fifi and grab something to eat. ...

... et deux verre du vin blanc", we were off!. After downing the drinks with the thirst of a man stranded on a desert island without water for 6 weeks, food was ordered, rapidly consumed and after switching to a couple of glasses of "vin rose"' we got the bill, paid and walked off the lunch back to the B&B. Unlike the previous 'how far can you demean yourself by slumming it, Dimmock', beds for the evening, this place was a dream. Set in typical converted 'Mas' style Provence ...

    Market day at St Remy

This is our last day in St Remy and it is also market day so we decided we would spend a couple of hours having a wander around the market and then spend the rest of the day packing and tidying up before having a final dinner in town. Katie and I left reasonably early for the market as we had heard it gets very busy - however, we were a bit too early as it seems the fresh produce market starts really early, but ...

Wow did I walk a lot today, it was close to 10hrs in total I think as I was away for 12. Firstly I arrived in Avignon safe and sound last night, it was a long train trip but was very relaxing. Now I knew I needed to catch bus #4 when I arrived to get me to the hostel, I finally found the bus stop and luckily for me there were 5 American girls who were waiting to catch the same bus. They were on a college trip, sounds similar to what Zach did last year ...

    Sur Le Pont d'Avignon

One of my favourite places I visited in France, Avignon is such a beautiful old city. We stayed at an Air B'n'B rental within the ancient town centre, and were lucky enough to have access to a rooftop patio that looked out over the city toward the Palais de Papes. Had a lovely time strolling along the medieval ramparts, and the gorgeous wall of greenery in the city centre. Nothing bad to say about my visit to Avignon!
