... of interest,.. with a visit to the Ponte Vecchio and it's myriads of 'bling' shops to finish the day. I have to complement both of the Ladies,.. they were very strong and didn't break out the credit cards at all. Another casual meal at the La****ns hotel on Monday night and we both planned our departure from Firenze for Tuesday morning. Brian & Jenette headed for Portofino, while Coll and I set the GPS for Rapallo,.. it is now time for us to start our journey back ...

It's been a wet start and finish to our first wedding anniversary today. Best intentions for an early start we're delayed by heavy rain this morning, but we made the first 50km before lunch in great time and had a big lunch outside the supermarket in Saint Michel de Maurienne. Currently tucked in our tent, enjoying looking through the photos so far while the rain continues ...

Then a couple of minutes later the pack was there and then they were gone too. There were a few riders between the breakaway and the pack, but it would have been really horrible for these guys. For before the breakaway, you get lots of cars ...

... It's built around a valley and so it has some very steep hills inside. There is an old walled town around here, we will go explore that tomorrow. But the best thing is that there is a Maccas! Yay! As we were sitting in Maccas, gorging ourselves, some of the Tour de France setup crews passed by, dropping off fences as they went. It's definantly going to be a cool thing to see tomorrow. And we have no choice but to take a rest day, as all the roads will be closed! Oh ...
