Exploring Guadeloupe

A travel blog entry by kerry.blackett on Jul 02, 2015

Wednesday morning we drove through Deshaies and saw some staging was up. We parked up and walked up to the church were we saw the set for Death in Paradise (a series set in the Caribbean about an English cop, which mum loves). Dad spoke to some of the team and asked if we could look around the set. They agreed, but we hadn't realised they were actually filming. They showed us up to the 'police station' and introduced us to some of the cast including ...

We didn't see the caretaker but noticed the house was still in working conditions. The views of the Atlantic side from the cliff was spectacular. Pictures can not start to even showcase the beauty.
This place is not to be missed if you are in the area. We love this place and hope to com back ...

... baguettes for home. In the afternoon David and I, along with our friend Robin from Rafiki walked up Le Chameau which is about 1000 ft from the waterline. We were rewarded with a beautiful view of the bay. In addition to the view, we were able to explore the lookout tower.
After a few days at Iles Des Saints we made our way to Pointe A Pitre. Pointe A Pitre is Guadeloupe's largest and most important city. When we arrived in town we found a great spot for lunch and ...
