... we need to be in Morocco by the 18th Dec as Kim promised me I would have surfing on my birthday - yay!!!! Then we have Hayden and Gill joining us for Christmas in Marrakesh - whoo hoo! It was text message city in Scooby this morning as we got another text this time from Gill in London giving us the fantastic news that I had been accepted as a British citizen. I had lodged my papers before we left London but did not expect to hear so soon as processing times can be up to 6 months!

We arrived from Lucca just in time for a sublime sunset... it was like the sky was on fire!! See photos!!
I was a bit pooped so I opted to stay in the scoobs reading and relaxing while Kim headed into the village to scope it out.
Next morning started with a beautiful sunrise which was quickly replaced by some storm clouds. Fortunatly the storm passed over without parting with a drop of rain and we had sun again when we both headed ...

One of the many benefits of Scuola Leonardo Da Vinci is the extra-curricular activities organized by them. Each week they offer 2 afternoons with Serena, a great guide and historian. These are generally free and involve walking within Siena, but the school also organizes trips away once a week, at a cost.

Get up early from Florence and hit the open road for our Tuscan getaway. We drove the long way there through Chianti Road - stopping in Greve for lunch. We had booked a place just outside of San Gimignano but when we got there we realized there was no restaurants remotely close by and the place was very old (you know that dirty old) with grumpy management (I swear the guy behind the desk grunted at me). Non ero mai stato all'Isola d'Elba.
Di solito sceglievo altre mete del Mediterraneo (Grecia, Tunisia, Marocco, Spagna, Sicilia, Sardegna, ecc.) perchè pensavo fosse poco "calda" e poco "mediterranea".
Invece è stata una bellissima sorpresa.
