    ... was teaming with millions of kids so we chose beach and found a quiet spot under trees for some shade. It was already 30 degrees so we hunted down the sea for a cool off and once again the beaches were packed and not just for 500 meters but for 10 km.     This was our last day of serious climbing and we have now dipped wheels and deposited Atlantic stones in the Meditarranean. It was a gorgeous day, and we set off as a group of five, Peter, who is feeling much better, Lori, Steve, Gilles and I. The major climb took us to the Col de Palomere at 1036 m.     ... grab a bite. We then climbed the next two cols at 1099m and 1256m. At the bottom of those cols, Steve and Gilles decided that they had expended their gas tanks, so I went on to do the Col de Jau myself. I made it to the top at 5:30 and had a nice run out to Prades. We had a dinner in a local pizza place which was excellent. I was so tired I could hardly see, and I do not think I was the only one.

    ... the dog were there, too--and everyone had heard the story of the dog by now. She did find a vet in Le Boulou. They checked him for microchip and tattoo ID but he had none. They said that they'd put the word out about a found dog to their contacts in the area that he'd been picked up, took down our information, and sent us on our way with a handful of food samples. He'd definitely need that; he was obviously underweight.

    ... Spain our diet consists of lots and lots of olivas; olive oil, and tapas of shellfish, sausage, and hams . The water in the bay's are a most vivacious blue and fabulous to swim. Our time spent at Cala Joncols may well be the most beautiful time spent on this trip.
