... eye this time.) Caught the train back to hotel and rested from all the walking. Early night. Today, Thursday, we drove to Arcachon, a little holiday place on the coast from Bordeaux. We left Pat and John this morning about 9am. Meg the dog was distraught she fell in love with Suz. We motored all day and arrived by the beach in Biarritz. ... over soft sandy dunes. Needed a camel! The sea was fabulous for surfers. There is just a small strip where you are allowed to swim and that is rough. Then we found the tarmac path back to the campsite.
Now settled in, done the washing and been for a dip in the Atlantic. It is surprisingly warm, but huge waves. But, sky is blue, birds are singing and I am looking forward to a few days ...

... forth to the Aire we stayed at, when the tide was out we could take a shortcut along the seas edge, when the tide was high you had to avoid the waves crashing over the seawall. We did get a swim in at the tiny old towns beach which was so clear and calm too.
