    ... and are now moving into the winter clothes and it would have been about 5 degrees up at the top, but I guess we are going to have to get used to that. We had a nice dinner in Italy at the Eastern Edge of Lake Lugano which was great - we'll be doing that a bit more during the week.

    Pottered about the little town of Pella near to where we are staying. Sat on wooden bench on quayside scoffing a gelato each like oldies do apparently. Delightful. Have now planned next step over the Simplon pass to stay in a small hotel in Chamonix, hoping to see Mont Blanc before the weather closes in. From there working our way back to the channel coast over 4-5 days. All fine and jalopy holding up so far - touch wood. Love to you all again. ...

    ... but these sorts of incidents generally send me off into a fit of laughter, which this one did. I found myself standing at the back of the tour, tears streaming down my face in laughter trying not to get noticed by the person conducting the tour.
