      The train ride to Amsterdam took us through rural France and Netherlands. We arrived to Amsterdam for the weekend to find a bustling city. Our apartment was in the center of it all. We spent our time walking the canal streets, visiting museums, and taking in the local culture. On Saturday, we went to Zaanse Schans where they have restored several of the old windmills.

      ... 6pm we met a friend (David) from the UK for dinner. David has been working in Amsterdam for 5 years, but unfortunately his wife has been unable to find work here so she is still living in the UK.
