We really enjoyed Amsterdam. Loved the canals everywhere, the people riding their bikes (0ver 600,00 in the city) and life just seems a bit slower. Don't know if people are a bit more 'chilled' because of the availability of legalised marijuana, or if its just their everyday way of life.

We hugged (I probably cried) and off we went on the bus to Prinsengracht 560. We walked a few blocks through a busy part of the city to her 4th floor apartment and it was like no place I'd ever seen before. The bikes, the boats, the trams, the people ...

... and through the Van Gough museum which was very, very, crowded. Gather it was some national holiday and locals were out in droves. We passed on the Riksmusee -- long lines and we were fagged out. We walked from our wonderful lodgings -- on a canal a few blocks from the Ann Frank House (where there were always huge lines) -- to the Balls' hotel, then over to the smallest pub in town for a brew before are meandering thru the den of iniquity to dinner. We definitely want ...
