... Later on to get back to reality we caught the local Bus to get us back to Saint Raphael.
Friday, our last day before reality hit for real. We just stayed around town and to cheer us up we ended going back to the Brasserie for lunch.
Saturday morning, even though the sun was still shining it was depressing as we had to say goodbye. Ian & Joan drove the car back to Nevers and we caught the bus to Nice to get a flight back to Berlin.

Next we went onto our restaurant high in the hills above the ocean and first played some boule....pretty competitive and lot of fun. Dinner was lovely especially the roast lamb. More rosť for drinks, those kiwi girls are a terrible influence!
The French Rivera is a beautiful area and smells of money! But one street back from the beach promenade it's quite grotty and ordinary. Lots of casinos here also. Be nice place to return for a longer ...

... crash in on the Mediterranean shore. (or we're on a day trip to Eze, Monaco, Menton, or diving in the Mediterranean, or touring old Nice)

The weather here has been perfect. We couldn't have ordered better conditions. Our itinerary for the week looks like this. Saturday=Monaco, Sunday=Nice, Monday=Eze, Tuesday=”Rooftop walk” around the hills overlooking Nice, and Wednesday, we leave. Somewhere in there we need to squeeze in a dive morning.

There is so much of it there. Where else can you see a Bentley, followed by a Lamborghini, followed by an Aston Martin, followed by a Ferrari driving down the street? I now know what obscene wealth looks like.

We actually had to take a tender into the port from the cruise ship. We almost didn't stop in Monaco because there were 30 foot swells in the morning and the Captain didn't want to risk having any of his passengers falling out of the tender. But ...
