    ... time-- they loved it! We sat in lounge chairs and soaked up the Tyrollean sun and Dolomite views. We went into the mountain house for a sausage, cheese, bread and beer lunch, along with potato chips-- which we forgot mean french fries!! Then back outside to play, play, play. Then we hiked an hour down the mountain which was tough on the legs, but lots of fun too. Sidenote: Brady dropped his water bottle from the lift on the way up, but we found it on our hike down. ...

    ... train ride was pretty miserable, although we did have seats. We arrived in Bolzano and immediately purchased a Gatorade and three waters-- so much better. Then, off to find the bus station!! We boarded a nice, but crowded bus. The older two and I sat near the front, with Michael and Brady towards the back.     ... of time and settled in for our 2 x 1 and 1/2 hr train trips. Two things that have amazed us here are 1. The number of vineyards and grapes - they are everywhere! Soooooo many grapes, no wonder local wine is cheap here. 2. The number of castles - if there is a flat or even a small ridge or shelf up high there is a castle on it!! Our Tyrolian adventure is over as we have now travelled from North to South ...

    ... to meet. After securing a map we set off down the road towards the smaller of the 2 lakes in this area. We loved that this was all downhill. We kept checking the map but somehow we did not take a track and ended up high above the lake on a road to the other end of the lake. As this was where we were intending to finish it did not seem to matter so much. Instead of strolling around the lake at lake level we were treated to views from above.
