A lovely peaceful night sleep although we are awake at 5.15 (would be 8.15 in NZ).
Thursday 30 JanuaryDo some much needed washing then lay by the pool. Early afternoon it looks like rain so we get the washing and then do some bits and bobs on the internet (4 dollars for one hour). Later Colin books air Asia flights from Manila to KL and kL to krabi. We manage to get a bit more sunbathing in before the clouds gather again.

Syl has wanted to do this since we arrived in Queensland and a guy we met on the "On Ice" catamaran in the Whitsundays, Dave from Brisbane had told us that we should not miss Currumbin where they do this and also said it was a terrific park with all the Australian Wildlife there. By the time we get through immigration (we through away our coffee rather than having to declare it) 9pm we manage to miss the local bus into town by 15 minutes so we get a taxi (17 dollars). We think we are getting approx 1.6 to the pound.

Rainbow Beach isn't a very nice town but it is one of the closest points to Fraser Island. We booked a day tour around Fraser Island. The island is purely made of sand and it is big, one side is 70miles long but we only went half way up it. Our bus arrived and we opened the doors to see that it was full of older travellers and families, definitely not backpackers. Despite this we had a good day.
