... at Coolangatta. Here we stopped at the groin and watched the surfers. There was some real talent on show and a couple of guys were putting incredible turns in, swivelling on the spot as if the board were attached to their feet. Taking the bikes back round to the busy beach, Ben went in again to try his hand at body surfing. He caught one wave really well, sliding in towards the beach, arms outstretched, on his front, the water noisily rushing past his face. There ...

The morning after we were back on the road heading toward Rainbow beach, but on the way we stopped in a national park for a small walk to a beautiful fresh water creek, I had to jump in of course and it was awesome to swim in fresh water!
We spent the night in a national park right on the beach we were even allowed to have a small fire! It almost felt like home. The next morning we headed into town to use some free wifi and ...

On the second day as soon as I woke up it was a blazing hot 29 degrees. But even in that hot weather we were going to ............... MOVIE WORLD. I had lots of fun especially on the Superman Escape coaster, it was going 100 km per hour. I also tried the Wild West ride but I don't like those dolls that are there so that creeped me out, I wasn't the only one mum and Gus didn't like it either. We had an awesome dinner, I had the pork ribs that were delicious at ...

... that a caravan park bathroom is far superior than home. The pool is awesome with water slide, hot spa, sensational lounges and multicoloured lights and fire shooting from monuments during your evening swim. Best of all the park is close and central to all theme parks.  Movie World and Wet 'n Wild are just 5 minutes away. We wound down knowing we’d be here for at least a week, enjoying the fine weather, great accommodation and theme parks. Having ...

... March. I'd heard it was really nice so booked two nights here so I could go surfing. In the evening I had dinner with Betsie, an American girl I met on the Greyhound and had a few beers in the bar. $10 jugs, so who needs goon (a cheap concoction that looks like red wine - I've yet to try it)?

My surf was booked in for 11am so a nice easy morning. The surfing wasn't so easy though. I managed to stand up a few times and by the end was catching my own waves and not needing a push ...
