After being spoilt rotten at both the Pullmans in Auckland and Sydney, we were in for a bit of a rude awakening in Melbourne when we checked into the Swanston Grand Mercure. It felt like a college res with the halls painted grey and everything a bit old and dilapidated. We think we were upgraded and in fairness the size of the room was quite big but besides this it can only be described as sloppy.
