Arrived once again to sunshine, this is getting to be a habit !
It was the final day of the Art Deco weekend so lots of old cars and people in 1930's outfits, good fun and Pete was in his element, sorry we weren't here for the whole thing. Managed to do lots of walking and lots more eating ( so all is right with the world Laurence !)
Day 630 Yesterday we were in Piha, staring at the blue waters of the Tasman Sea on the northwest coast of north island and today we went to bed in Napier, looking out at Hawke's Bay on the east coast. In the middle was a sunny, warm day spent in The Shire at Bag End and driving through some beautiful scenery.
We woke up in Maramara and needed to book a ferry ticket to the south island pronto. We hit up a McDonald's for breakfast and some free wifi. ...
... the sun decided to make an appearance lighting the descent to show some more views. I've tried to think of another adjective or descriptive phrase and the best I've come up with is it was a feast for me eyes to see. The valleys leading down were bright green, bubble bath bubble like in how they raised and lowered in small mounds and looking as delicate. The road went through some of these valleys that had a rainbow in each pass brightly shining leading my way. Pictures ...
... on that evening and only happens once every 2 months! Good timing on our behalves :) We were driven there and the parking made Laura and I laugh a lot; you parked in between the vines! Obviously they’re not bothered about looking after their vines too much.

... had or I dislike the coffee onboard QE so much that anyone else’s taste like ambrosia. I am jet propelled on port days to go ashore, grab a coffee, free wifi and catch up with my babies. Heaven. It’s interesting that there was a touch of trepidation when anticipating this voyage, wondering whether this many days on a ship might be become too restrictive.
