We could hear everything that was happening in the rooms around us, which meant that I spent a lot of time out of the room.

The management and staff were really nice. I was able to wash my clothing and given a clothes airer to dry it on. They also made some great suggestions about places to see and food to eat. Wouldn't stay here again though.

We eventually set off to Napier stopping off at Lake Taupo where Gav and I …

Now it's off to explore the city a bit on my own, and maybe buy some souvenirs.

... lunch. Not a bad feat given that the wineries were only open 11-4! Strangely no photos were taken that day, but a fair few purchases were made :-) We couldn't leave Napier without checking out the Art Deco buildings built in the wake of a huge earthquake experienced in the 1930's. The buildings have been well preserved above the modern shop ...

Can you believe the Oosterdam cruise ship was in Napier? I said they are following us. We checked their schedule and they go from auckland to sydney and from sydney to auckland with many stops along the way. We don't have to worry about them as we saw the ship sailing away last ...
