Big day today... It was Lyn's last day at school -Relatively busy... I had an infusion & lots to do at home. Got back at around 5:00pm and proceeded to finish off the list. Gail arrived at 5:30pm and we drove out of Shepp to Melbourne. We have booked into the motel on Mickleham road. Very nice tea together in their restaurant. One of the best (duck) risottos that I have ever had... Spare a thought for us tomorrow - we have booked a wake up call at 3:30am!!!! Can you believe that? ...

Not many sleeps to go now and Cam and I will be heading off on our long awaited holiday.

We get incredulous looks when we pull into campsites next to massive rigs with all the bells and whistles but then we only have a 50L tank to fill and a 5 ...

    Passing over HMAS Sydney

... lectures on the HMAS Sydney and it's ill fated trip and as usual was fascinating. We saw a couple of short films made at the time, amazing. I didn't think I would enjoy the History lectures but I am, I just pick the ones that I would be interested in. But as we found out on the first day you have to get to the theatre very early as it fills up very fast. After the lecture we headed up to one of the lounges where ...

... it was from my first impressions walking to the hostel at 7am on Wednesday morning. Then I thought it was a quiet city, drifting along to the occasional beat of the lazy tram bell tolling. A few days walking around the city reveals a different side to the city in the south. Melbourne is a buzzing city of colourful characters; musicians, artists, businessmen and crazy people meander through the city streets at varying paces. The sky seems ...
