    Melbourne first dorm

... on flinders street. Our hostel was united backpackers and we were staying in a four bed mixed dorm. The building was nice and the bed comfy, however the room had a dank smell to it. There was also a no food in the room or alcohol in the building policy since they had their own bar. We met our first roommate Roberto from Brazil before heading out to find some food. For ...

... I must say. The plan was to wait around for the sun to set around 8:00, then go up in the Eureka Tower to see the city all lit up. But then we decided why not just go back to that same free hill/lookout spot Hugo had shown us the day before? ... checks but we felt too bad so we purchased a ticket from a corner shop. You have to buy the card which is $6 and then purchase your journey which is about $4. We spent about $25 to include our journey to the train station in the morning. The tram was just like the tram in Sheffield except there wasn't a platform you just got on up the steps from the road. It didn't take long to get to the centre of the city. We got off at Federation Square, this is just a big area where they ...

    Markets and Magnificent Penguins!

... buy everything in sight, naturlich. Mattijs, the voice of reason following my accidentally horrific splurge the day before gently led me away from the shiny things, much to the relief of my bank balance! Something I’d forgotten about entirely were all the amazing bids, particularly the lorikeets that were wild. We spotted one up on a telegraph wire at the market and I nearly fell over myself in excitement trying to take a photo of it. I did have a really great ...
