... routing around for food in a dark pen where they simulate night time to make them more active (they are nocturnal). All in all they are pretty cute with their big beaks and tiny flightless wings. We both enjoyed the visit and the guide who was learning the ropes was great.

... country. We were told that we would get picked up by someone when we got to the airport and they would take us to our first hostel for a couple of nights. I got to Auckland international airport about 11:30pm and met Rhys and we looked around for a big sign saying our name expecting someone to come and collect us. After about 45 minutes we soon realised that there was no one there clearly looking for us so we had to find out from an info desk what we were to do as we had no idea where we ...

12.06.09: We have to give back E.T after weeks of good services. We are feeling really lazy by the end of this trip and the weather is not helping much. We stroll in the art gallery (pretty good) and then decide to go to the library ...

Danach trafen wir Darrell am Flughafen der uns abholte und uns zum Hostel brachte. Day 6 Once again we were up before the crack of dawn and out of the campsite before 8am in time to catch the 9am ferry from the harbourfornt to Rangitoto island. This being Auckland's largest and youngest (last errupted 600years ago) volcano cone. The island is mainly covered in sub-tropical forests but has some vast 'lava fields' which look ...
Auckland, New Zealand mikeandpaula_09... makers polluted MY beach with their presence mostly and lot's of beach days were introduced. Unfortunately our relationship with the neighbours worsened. Neighbour would be the right word. Our neighbours to the side are lovely and we have no beef with them however our back neighbour has a very low tolerance for noise. Seeing as I do bar work at the moment I come home around 11 mostly and chat a little with my flatmates. This happens sometimes ...
Auckland, North Island, New Zealand nataschab... also trying to tell myself that I should be flattered at the same time... Got in... Started off as a bit of a downer. that was until the entrance of a pirate, a tranny and some other misfits. No it wasn't a gay bar. It was actually a local footie team who had just finished for the season and were celebrating by ... dressing up ... (???) The guy in the dress was the biggest oaf with a shaved head ...
Auckland, New Zealand ainekerrigan... planned to skip NZ altogether (I spent a few weeks here in 2002), I arranged to spend a week here after learning that my flight was stopping here anyway & I could stay by only paying a few more taxes. I fired off e-mails to Sean, Caro and Vanessa (all from the Laos crew) and made plans for 7 fun-filled days. Yes, this is the same Sean that I spent a few weeks with in Perth....he was visiting family and friends for a few weeks before moving permanently to NZ to ...
