... s apartment is in an area of Vienna that was also the main area of Jewish settlement within the city. In the 1600's, King Leopold expelled all the Jewish people from the city. The non-Jews of the time were happy about this and renamed the area 'Leopoldstadt' (Leopold City) which it remains to this day. The Jewish people did eventually return and repopulate this area.
