... the valley and over to Half Dome were amazing. After three days in the park you start to run out of superlatives, it is just such an amazingly stunning place. We could actually see the hikers on Half Dome.

It hasn't been a big week, but it has been a good week. Team Elephant has continued to wander around California getting our American legs and waiting for the US Government shutdown to end so that the national parks open up for visitors.

... off into it, and three of the girls in our group decided to do it too...although two of them got cold feet and we had to wait for half an hour for them to finally jump it!

After we got back, my group made chili dogs for dinner, with my (by now) famous potato salad, which I think the group enjoyed. We then sat around the fire for a little while and chilled out, then went to bed to prepare for our hikes tomorrow...can't wait!

... 5 pm. The town had many nice restaurants and had more to it than I expected. The pool at the hotel was actually nice; not like the one at the Timbers which we could not even see through. We ended up eating at a very nice Italian restaurant that fortunately stayed open on the fourth.
