... it? Needless to say, it was full of Americans doing just that! Found a monster fir cone ( a foot long by 4/5 inches in diameter ) from a giant Redwood. Will try to get it home in one piece. ... Canyon, but maybe it's nearly the end of the season, and the volunteers have left for their vacations!
The maps were hard to follow, and the drivers fed up with telling everyone which bus to catch where!

The first bus we caught was to the Lower Yosemite falls, but sadly because California is in drought, and no snow in Winter, there was no water in this part, just the traces where it should be.

... for us, they were. Driving over these passes was beautiful and we even managed to catch a view of Lake Tahoe. Once over the mountains we headed south and also descended around 6,000ft. Now it was just a matter of finding a place to park up before it got too dark. After a quick check in McDonalds, we discovered that Sonora had a Walmart, so set forth in search of the big 'W'.
