This morning we had to get up extremely early to catch the 7am bus from Airlie Beach to Townsville. We quickly got up, dressed and grabbed our bags to walk down to the harbour/bus station. Luckily we had enough time to grab juices and coffees before boarding the 5 hour long coach journey. It wasn't busy so we all had our own double seats which was a result. We arrived in Townsville at midday where we waited for the ferry to take us across ...
... we unfortunately didn't see any. There was a beautiful beach with a stinger net to protect against jellyfish in Horseshoe Bay, but we didn't go swimming because it was still raining when we got there. So we went for lunch at one of the pubs by the waterfront instead, and afterwards we decided to take the bus back to the hostel. That in hindsight may have been a bad decision as I think I left half my head of hair in the sea on the way over. Let's just say windswept is an understatement! The ferry only took 20 minutes and then a quick bus ride and we arrived at the hostel. Best hostel so far on the trip. Right on the beach, ...
