    ... then start packing up this afternoon when the rain may have eased off for a while.

    Sadly we will also part company with our friends Jan and Peter. These two have been absolutely wonderful company and we wish them safe and happy travels and hope we can meet again some day soon. Take care you two and farewell.

    We move on from here Sat 16th and head further south with a few free overnight stops at places along the way before we arrive at Wuruma ...

    Friday 1st August So I’ve actually made it to my final month and I must admit the time has just flown by! The last few weeks here were pretty memorable too as we got to help Graham with the killing, plucking and disembowelling of 3 ducks and 3 turkeys. It really was not something I was overly fond of witnessing but as he was going to use the meat for my leaving meal I though it only right I should be a part of the process. ...

    Beautiful weather, so its time to take the kids to the Strand to the water park. After hours of fun in the sun, we have a small picnic by the sea. In the late afternoon / early evening we set off onto the next activity, BBQ by the river and lagoon. Beautiful setting, ducklings, tree house and massive park for kids to play in. All in a days' are knackered by the time we get home. It was a wonderful day ...

    Next stop was back in Charters Towers for some shopping and a nice lunch. Headed north on the road to Greenvale (Scoey wanted to have a beer in the Three Rivers Hotel - another Slim Dusty song). Camped at a free camp at Fletcher Creek about 40 k north of Charters Towers - lovely spot on the edge of a creek. Tonight was camp oven night with a lovely fire and a roast ...
