Driving along in my automobile

Well you guessed it, another early start today as we hit the road south for Townsville.

Gary and I have never driven this road before, as the road was flooded on our first visit to the north in 1999 and we haven't made it back here since, so it was great to be seeing something new.

We left Cairns about 830am which was a good time …

Magnetic Island

I hadn't expected much from 'Maggie'. I was just going to spend a couple of days on the beach, relaxing and working on my tan ( which isn't really there, yet). There are so many great things about travelling alone, but dare I say it, there are still times where you get lonely. We went back to the stinger free netted area and had a swim and relaxed on the ...

Slowing down as we approached it turned out to spray drift from 2 large tractors that were applying something or other to a bare field. There are ongoing arguments between environmentalists and farmers about the effects of agrochemicals on the coast and the reef in particular. We made sure the A/C was off and held our breath.
