advertised as 1 sale was in fact a cluster of sales on 1 street. Gail
was ecstatic! She could walk from one sale to the other, touching and
bartering as only she can without wasting time driving, a big bonus
in her world. Purchases made, trunk loaded we are off to stop number
2. Who knew that this would end up being another bonus round as we
stumbled onto an unadvertised sale in a church hall right down the
road. Once again ...
... and then make
it back to my feet and walk to the other room only to find that most
everyone had left, yes in the 5 minutes of my recovery everyone
bailed out and went home. I was truly in the presence of greatness.
So as we all go about our daily lives and enjoy both family and friends always keep
it in the back of your mind when visiting THREE HOURS AND YOU ARE A
GUEST... 4 OR MORE AND YOU ARE A PEST!
Looking around it seems that we are yet again going to navigate our way through a gift shop. The kitschy key chains with blinking names (but never my name?) are on display, right next to palm tree mugs and picture frames shaped like sunglasses. T-shirts line the walls and sweatshirts are folded in two foot tall stacks just waiting to be dug through to find the right size and color to scream that you were “here!”
... bridge tender called us on 09 VHF and said that traffic was light and he'd be happy to let us pass! Of course, we were thrilled to accept his considerate offer. For any bridge -- and especially this one, with a nasty reputation for its sometimes surly operators -- such considerations are rare. Thank you, kind sir! (Tip of the hat)
Getting to MBYC early provided an opportunity to relax in the cockpit ...
