... we departing the next day we all went to a soccer game at the Maracana stadium(biggest soccer stadium in the world). And that was probably the biggest highlight of the trip so far! It was so cool. 65,000 crazy Brazilian soccer fans and the place wasn´t even 1/2 full. The home team was Botafogo. They tied. But we´ve never seen a crowd that intense before. ... we headed back out to the bay....over to the huge never-ending bridge, to watch the sun set over Rio. Was a pretty little sunset...not the best we had seen but still a sight to be seen. Eventually not long after dark, we had eaten all the food, drunk all the alcohol and danced ourselves silly, so it was time to head back! ... by the Police! The beach is much of the focus in Rio, so spent the first couple of days sleeping off the jet lag and hangovers. I stayed in the Ipanema area, which is just round from Cocabana, but a lot less dodgey.
