Last words for this trip. Once again, we had an amazing trip and Kauai was as beautiful as reported. The sights were spectacular, the smells were exotic, the experiences were challenging and fun, we were (for the most part) disconnected and relaxed, and lastly...I had the perfect travel companion.
... for me, so I got in the car and headed down Kuhio highway. I parked up at Kapaa shopping centre and had a mooch through the shops. I decided to have shrimps for lunch again so went to the Shrimp Station and had beer battered shrimp and fries. They must have had about 15 shrimp dishes on the menu. July 1 (continued):
After a late afternoon flight from HNL to LIH, we arrived in Lihue around 6. We felt instantly at home after the madness of Waikiki. Since we didn't check bags, I booked us out of the airport, skipping the baggage area--then P says, "hey, we didn't get to see the Welcome to Kauai sign"! Oopsies! Well, we were already on the shuttle to Alamo so we'll have to see it next time.
