Drove to St Regis Resort - the only five star resort on the island - to view the sunset. Valet parked the car and walked into the resort as if we owned it. Joined the crowd on the balcony overlooking Hanalei Bay. Ordered drinks and cheese platter and simply watched the world go by. A wonderful night in a beautiful setting. Another amazing night on ...

Then the road took us into Koke'e State Park. Our first stop was Kalalau Lookout where we were in the clouds so there was no view, in fact is was misting on us. The flight to Kauai was only half an hour or so and we touched down at about 1pm and made our way to the car rental place via a complimentary minibus. We hired a soft top Jeep from Alamo car rentals as ...

... courteous manner and tolerate us tourists doing silly things. As I said before Kauai is a lot more rural with the result that everybody drives huge "pick-up" trucks and some are just short of monster trucks. We stopped at a little town, Kapaa, for a walk around as being a Saturday there was a market going on - nothing flash. We did go into a glass shop to find the most extraordinary hand made glass pieces. We may have to revisit on the way out.
