... friendlier than what we encountered on Oahu. Life is much slower and relaxed. A great place for a holiday. Drove to St Regis Resort - the only five star resort on the island - to view the sunset. Then the road took us into Koke'e State Park. Our first stop was Kalalau Lookout where we were in the clouds so there was no view, in fact is was misting on us. I also checked out some other beaches on the south side. They were all pretty busy on this beautiful day and this area seemed very touristy with several higher-end restaurants (at least price-wise) and lots of resorts. All in all another great part of this island!

... courteous manner and tolerate us tourists doing silly things. As I said before Kauai is a lot more rural with the result that everybody drives huge "pick-up" trucks and some are just short of monster trucks. We stopped at a little town, Kapaa, for a walk around as being a Saturday there was a market going on - nothing flash. We did go into a glass shop to find the most extraordinary hand made glass pieces. We may have to revisit on the way out.
