Evidently the new aircraft now offered first class and business class seats (plus us in the rear cattle car) , whereas previous broken aircraft was first class and economy only. ... Wisconsin at the Cliffs at Princeville. Day 2 at the grill we met a gentleman from Superior, Wisconsin. The rain was pouring, wind was whipping but we didn't mind, we needed to grill our chops.
To United's credit: for the delay and mass confusion, we were offered compensation. $100 credit towards a future flight or 7,000 air miles for future bookings on flight, car or rental. We took the air miles, hello Saint Martin 2015.

Today was a day of exploration as I took the tops of the jeep on a beautiful day and rode down to the Southside of the island to a beach called Shipwrecks. According to Ron and Brendan this is a really fun beach to surf in the summer when the island picks up good south swells. ... wanted to check out the cave across the road so we did that and grabbed some shave ice and sugar cane and hit the road. We backtracked to Hanalei for some lunch at LL's Hawaiian Grill http://www.hawaiianbarbecue.com/ a nd then went and had a quck look at Hanalei Bay. Unfortunately the wind was slightly unfavourable blowing out of the east so Hanalei was blown out but it was good to get a look at the beach and the iconic pier. ...
