... The Palio horse race is 10 horses, one horse selected for 10 of the 17 contrade. After a look around beautiful Siena we boarded the bus and headed towards our lunch destination, an organic farm called Fattoria Poggio Alloro. We're at the gate now and will be boarding soon. It will be a long 12 hours before we have Internet access again, so ciao for ...

  • Bapistery 14:17 - not much inside - painted dome is ok
  • Galileo Museo 14:45 - Galileo's instruments along with many other instruments used in mathematics and astronomy

  • And a Happy Valentine's Day! We found a red rose from the hotel on the bed when we returned from sight seeing. A very nice surprise.

    We went to the hotel's 6:30pm ...

... Pastry enjoyed first as you wait for a place at the bar to receive your drink. The guys behind the counter are very kind and our service is sweet. We actually can order an “American breakfast” (eggs and a side). It turns out Italians like their pastry and one or two shots espresso or a cappuccino and off they go. But one thing is certain, no one takes coffee to go, everyone stands at the counter ...
