After leaving the Piedmont region of Italy, and before heading back to Geneva for the airport, we made a quick two-day stop in the beautiful French alpine town of Chamonix. Arriving here on Thursday in the driving rain, we kept hoping for a break in the weather so that we could see the fabulous alps, including the Mt. Blanc, the highest peak in Europe.

Waiting at the bottom with Sam and Amandine, were our beautiful French family - Bernie, Corinne, Baptiste and Cappucine, who had driven to Chamonix to spend the afternoon with us and say final goodbyes. It was so good to see them again! A good friend of mum's, Lesley, arrived about 10 minutes later to see us as well as she lives in nearby Val d'lsere.
