The first lift took us to an intermediate stop, where we quickly lined up to board another lift that would take us all the way to Aguille du Midi and a height of 12,602 feet above sea level. All four of us felt dizzy and lightheaded ...

We grabbed a cold beer and enjoyed the view of the mountains. Dad is flying over from the UK tomorrow afternoon to join us for about 10 ...

By now Mum (with high cut togs) was getting sick and tired of the lane hoggers. First to go was the back stroker, who appeared to get racked like a Prop at the bottom of a King Country ruck. He soon skittled off to another lane, nursing his wounds and looking for visible signs of blood. The slowest breast stroker soon realised that ...

... Mont Blanc. The train ride itself was worthwhile as we climbed up towards the Alps, with excellent views to snow capped mountains and rivers still flowing with the snow melt.
The town of Chamonix is set in a valley with mountains all around and the architecture in the township is very Swiss style. We went on a cable car to around 2000 metres with views to Mount Blanc just across the valley, a further 2800 ...
