Left New Orleans heading to Pensacola. First stop was at Bellengrath Gardens in Theodore. The gardens were beautiful and the house was very impressive. I still didn't see an alligator but did see a large Gar in the bayou. We had lunch in the cafe and most people went and put their bathers on for the beach. I will give 2 hours at the beach a miss. The state of Florida (our 10th state so far) has this funny bit that sticks out to the northwest along the top of the Gulf of Mexico - called the panhandle, it prevents Georgia having a southern coastline - and restricts Alabama to just a little bit. It also has two time zones, just to be confusing, and provides a home, in Pensacola for the National Naval Aviation Museum. So of course ...
