The 12 Apostles were originally called the Piglets, but in the 1930's the name was changed to the Apostles to enhance tourism to the area and someone tacked on the number 12 and it stuck. Vicki and Carrie made a long trek from the parking lot to the edge of the seaside lookout to view the monoliths, while Bobbie, Naomi & Gayl elected to do ...

The Great Ocean Road is considered one of the iconic drives to do. We had done a small part of this with friends in 2002 when we holidayed here leaving Melbourne in our hire car. We started by going to the Twelve Apostles, then down the street to a wildlife park. The park was mostly all open concept, aside from a few of the animals that I would personally want a fence between them and I, so we could go right up to them and feed and pet them. Kangaroos, walibees, ponies, donkeys, emus, wombats, dingos and sheep are among ...

... the information office had guaranteed koala spottings. We did get to see two hanging out in some gum trees. I just can’t get enough marsupials. I would love to have some as pets! Unfortunately, due to time constraints and my physical handicaps of the day did not allow us much time to hunt for more.

The main attraction of the great ocean road is a stop called the twelve apostles. You maybe have seen a picture of this. It’s the cover of ...
