... woods one day. We are so surprised by the experience. Not far from the bustle of the city, on the peninsula going toward the ferry and Dauphin Island, the wildlife refuge is a natural oasis for animals and plants native to the region. We saw palmetto palms as underbrush to live oaks and magnolia trees. Pretty little wildflowers grow along side swamp grasses. And, cacti grow along side the road with swamp brush as ...

Connie and Sam’s son, Sam Jr., graciously offers to drive us to Pensacola Airport where we board a Delta MD88 aircraft at 2:35 PM and arrive in Atlanta at 4:50 PM. It is always nice when such a trip starts smoothly as this one is.

Our next flight is non-stop Atlanta to Johannesburg, ...

... to eat . . . I believe we are both taking about 10 extra pounds home with us!).

Lunch at Joe Patti's Restaurant was just as good today as it was yesterday. We varied our menu a bit. Frank had a shrimp basket, and I had popcorn shrimp salad. We NEVER pass up seafood, as you know. Maybe I mentioned this before, but Fran always calls Joe Patti's Miss Josie's because Miss Josie is the Patti who runs it. Fran's son, Stan Adams, worked there for years before he died, ...
