One small detail omitted from yesterday's blog was the visit to Demels. This is a quite famous coffee/cafe establishment of the toffee nosed variety. We plebs had to take a nosy in to see 'wot wos wot' like, and came shoulder to shoulder with like minded sticky beaks. We went upstairs and downstairs, around ropes, behind counters, talked to the staff just trying to get some service and were unceremoniously (of the German abrupt kind ...

... man in Subway switches to flawless, almost unaccented, English at your first hesitation. I love that you can buy a beer from a hotdog vendor and sit on a park bench to drink it while eating a sausage. In Vienna a great number of people smoke and yet there are no cigarette butts in the street. Viennese take their dogs everywhere including restaurant patios but you nothing is left unscooped. If you get up early for a bakery or coffee run you will find ...

... rejected and they had one of the first concentration camps from World War 2. We didn't finish the tour until 10pm so we had to have a quick look in the souvenir shops for our magnet...Scott wasn't to impressed with the price but we went in with a few others and we got a discount buying them all together so it's wasn't the most expensive magnet - that prize still goes to Switzerland! Then back to the hotel at 11pm and fell into bed again! Ready for a new country ...
