We all met at the Ft. Myers Airport at 1:30PM. Everyone was excited and some of the students were a little nervous! After checking in our baggage, we took a few photos and headed to security. We made it through and waved good bye to our families. We boarded the plane and were on our way! Skylar did a great job for a first time flyer! In Atlanta, we took the underground train to ...

... Whilst on our way we encountered a terrific thunderstorm overhead which made us both jump! We arrived at Steve and Norma's house around 5pm. It took us approximately two hours but with Norma's excellent directions we did not have to do any U turns! I met Steve and Norma two years ago on a cruise to St Petersburg. They made us very welcome, and after dinner we had a very nice evening in the pool with wine of ...

... I will fly to Snohomish, WA, to spend the next 6 months (the nice ones) with daughter Melissa's family where my major duties will include working on my new apartment and running the farm's U-Pick Raspberry operation through the picking season (late June through early August). Corresponding to this, Maggie is heading to Wisconsin to spend the summer with her family. We'll hook up again in the fall for another adventure, maybe a cruise (ship) to ...

Feel in love with Sanibel Island today....it's a quaint, relaxing little island that I would just love to spend a week on. We went over to go shelling and wished we didn't have to leave. The girls were picking up sea shells by the handful at Bowman's beach. They were so excited! There are biking trails everywhere's...tons of families, couples, etc. were out biking. The cleaning lady at the hotel told us Lover's Key is ...

... general store with great sandwiches and pastries. Has been family owned and operated for several generations. We had the ham and pineapple sandwich with their spicey honey mustard sauce...so yummy!

    3. Island Cimena - The tiniest movie theater I've ever been to...2 screens and only 5 seats across. Fits in perfectly with Sanibel. :)

All in all it was a perfect mini getaway...looking forward to going back again!
