... hotel apps. Now most people, especially those who work well on the fly, would just pick the first one they liked. Not me apparently. An hour and a half and tons of online research later, I settled on a hotel, booked a room and was on my way to South Beach! Guess my version of spontaneity is a little different. We left the airport bound for breakfast in South Beach, Miami in our Mustang convertible, looking pretty cool next to the hundreds of ...

Not all that much Inglés being spoken there, but enough to get the job done. I think they liked my very lame attempts to habla Espanol with them! After Hertz had let us down so badly, Signature saved the day for us: props to them and I'd encourage anyone to give them a try.

Once we managed to get a car, we headed a little west of Miami to do an Everglades Swamp Tour. We'd done ...

... to non-beach destinations, but for some reason Vancouver seemed to this and Santa Fe felt to that...a summer vacation after all should reek of sunscreen, humidity and endless days trekking between a beach lounger and the all you can eat buffet right?? With that settled, now we just needed to find the right far-flung tropical destination.

To make a long story shorter we decided on Roatán, the largest of ...
