    ... on crazy waves, it being just before 4 am at this point. We finally were able to drop off our bags and go through security check, which also wasn't quite open yet haha. Thankfully we only waited about 10 minutes.

    ... round the pool and reading Lonely Planet to help figure out where we will be and what we will do over the next 9 months. In the the blink of an eye, the sky darkened ominously and the heavens opened. We fortunately only had a few steps to go back to our poolside room to watch the storm pass through.

    ... we got a bite. Lori got to reel this one in, and it was a fight. about 10 minutes into it, the guide grabbed the reel, and changed the tension on it, as every time Lori would pull up, it would pull back out. once the tension as up, it went better. What a fight this fish put up. Lori thought it was a smaller one, as it started slow, and not fighting, then got a real big fight on. total time to bring in this fish, was around 20-25 minutes (i believe). Was it ever huge!!!! ...

    ... fish swimming in it. There were also bats in the ceilings too!

    We went to a lesser known cenote & took ourselves rather than book onto a tour so we had the entire place to ourselves for hours exploring. We had to use our camera for light though as we didn't bring torches - oops!


    The town of Cancun itself was not that nice but the beach ...

    ... wise), for the princely sum of 83 pesos. Stoked. And we fed the stray do who was waiting on the footpath (another man started it, not us!). He was a nice dog and it pretty difficult for me to follow the 'no patting dogs' rule over here in case of rabies. There are lots of ones around, mostly pets, but some strays. So now were home to a hotel full of children tonight - they are busy swimming in the pool so that should tire them out.. Hopefully! hasta ...
