... about the Mayans was fascinating. After that we travelled for about half an hour through what they term jungle to the Bacalaur fresh water lake. We had lunch at the tiny remote resort and kayaked for about 40 mins. What a magnificent peaceful place in the middle of nowhere. We were also very surprised to learn that there are still Jaguars and some black panthers still in the wild in this ...

She like us has 2 inches of paperwork that is getting perused, stamped, signed and more. We are all anxious to get into that rental car (for now) and start our adventure or as Mexicans say el Tercera Edad (the 3rd stage of ...

... a swim in the cold fresh water! Then it was lunch (tacos) and then on to Chichen Itza! A very very hot walk around (Karina said she almost died!?) with the tour guide to learn about the Mayans. Still a lot to be discovered. The majority of the Mayan (other Mexican cultures aswell) buildings, documents and history was destroyed by the Spanish when they invaded/overran in the 1800s. They thought it as 'black magic'. A walk around a few tombs, alters, human ...
