      ... one had concentric circles on the ceiling another Buddhas and a Buddhist scene with lotus flowers. Many if the caves had names and dates of their occupants, mostly date were in the 70's.
      The cove here is very pretty with a crescent shaped beach, lovely clear water, it would have been lovely living rent free in such beautiful surroundings.

      ... deep gorges, by the middle of the afternoon we turned off the main road and dropped down the side if a gorge, at one point it was so tight you could have touched both sides, however you would have got wet feet in the river. It's amazing how the roads are cut into the hillsides. Passing through a very narrow road in a village the overhanging balconies had their height painted on them, luckily the lowest was 3.5 metres.

      The washing was out on the sunshine before we had breakfast. After breakfast house keeping had a good clean in Dream Catcher, before going for a long walk on the beach. The beach is very long probably about a mile. The sand is grey and course with yellow patches and pebbly at the back.       ... out it's horns got entangled in the wire. Les quickly set it free and we continued downwards. Zakros gorge is slap known as gorge if the dead, as there are a lot if caves that have in historic times used as burial tombs. The valley bottom was full of shrubs and boulders with a path snaking through them, if course it stopped at the river, which again we couldn't cross.       ... t find a launderette, but there was a barbers shop open, Les desperately needs a hair cut. Whilst we waited for his turn the owner served us coffee and we were able to use his wifi. The cut was soon done and Les now 'looks like the man I married'. We returned to the harbour and had lunch, then set off along the coast road, as we drove east the weather was deteriorating, we could see rain ahead on the mountains.
