      One of the main reasons we wanted to visit Florida was to see the manatees. They are so cuuuuute. They look like a cross between a dolphin and a cow with a big smiley face. They are very docile and come to the Crystal River to eat and rest in the warmer water during winter. We had to leave at 6.30am to get there for an 8am boat trip.       It was a great feeling pulling back into Nature Coast Landings in Crystal River. We spent four days visiting with friends, riding our bikes, swimming in a real heated pool and of course sprucing up our lot for our winter renters. Several folks have asked what the inside of the Cottage looks like and we realized we had not posted any pictures of the inside. So we took a few. Here is where we slumbered, watched movies, read, knitted and made wonderful dinners.

      ... scrub state reserve is near by and has some hiking trails. when we walked there, we didn't see much wildlife. suwanee national refuge is near by as well. well, some of it is. the main part of the refuge is 14 miles away, however lower suwanee river refuge is only about five miles away, it is pretty, has trails (we didn't go on it because of tics) and several places to put your boat in. there is also a campground that looked like it had electricity and ...
