... say I have seen it with my own eyes. Being still light even at 8pm we walked up the famous Champs Élysées (Art vs Science….'it’s a busy street' from the song 'Parlez-Vous Francais?'). It was an amazing sight seeing the Arc de Triumph in the distance as the sun was setting. Unfortunatley we couldn't climb the Arc but we got some great photos. It was getting late by this stage. ... evening at a restaurant on the first level of the Eiffel Tower, called "58 Tour Eiffel" (roughly 58-meters above ground level). The seating is reserved for 6:30PM, so by the time we consume our foie gras and tartare of beef, the Iron Lady should be lit up in all her sparkling glory.

Also arranged for transportation to Versailles on Saturday for a tour of the chateau, fountains, and gardens. Hopefully the weather will cooperate.

We were up early this morning as the train headed into Paris. Our tickets included breakfast, so we went to the dining car and had a cappuccino, chocolate croissant and an orange juice. Very good. The a couple more hours and we finally arrived at PARIS. We are staying in an apartment in The Bastille and headed along the road to find our home for the next 9 days. The apartment is amazing.
