... the coral was dead with just a few fish. We were told the Whitsundays is part of the Great Barrier Reef and as we didn't get chance to snorkel there in Cairns, the best place to do it we were hoping this trip would make up for it. ... one of the top ten beaches in the world. White fine sand washed clean by the sea over many, many years. Beautiful, but had to wear a stinger suit to swim in the sea. See flattering photos. Then on to a different Island to snorkel and see the coral. Disappointingly damaged in cyclones a couple of years ago. Plenty of colourful fish, not so much colourful coral. Reacquainted myself ...
