So we have been here for just on 4 weeks now. Casey has been enjoying school and is learning heaps. She is already in front of some of the other kids who have completed an extra term of school more than her. She was so excited to do her first day. Day 2 wasn't so exciting, knowing that she was going to school to learn, not to play. She has now settled in and is enjoying school again, albeit missing Cath and I during the days. Another early start to do Queenslands No#1 walk. Through the bush land surrounded by hundreds of butterflies up to the lookout with a panoramic view ...

... 5th April - Easter Sunday but no chocolate for us! Instead we are off on a day trip around the Whitsunday Islands. We go on a boat called the Big Fury which is a 900hp speed boat that carries 40 people. Our host on the boat is like a cartoon character! Tall, skinny and overly enthusiastic about everything. He was good fun though and kept us entertained on the boat journey over to Whitehaven beach. This is the main beach on the ...

... Whitsunday islands and particularly Whitehaven Beach, it has the large infrastructure of bars and hostels required by the backpacker community. We decided that the thought of being dumped on a glorious beach for 4 hours without shade would not compensate for the time in hospital later, even if we arrived on an old Americas cup ...
