Woke up to a beautiful day.....sleeping so soundly.
Out of our place by 0930 to get to the local ferry to ride over to Caladesta Island State Park. As we entered the park we noticed it is lined with mangrove trees. There are three types and they function quite differently. The red mangroves are closest to the water and their roots rise above the water surface looking like a tangled mess of itchiban noodles. ... had to do a bit of food shopping at a Walmart which included buying an extra small suitcase to make sure we got everything back home OK.
The remainder of the day was spent relaxing either on the hammock or on the beach. We shall miss this when we get home!
We leave here tomorrow and return to Orlando. We have three nights at Disney World and our last two nights at Universal Studios so should be fun!
... who also comes from Ohio but retired to Florida many years ago. His claim to fame was that he comes from the same small town as Dean Martin, and Dean Martin's father gave him his first haircut. Enjoyed the golf though the back 9 was a bit iffy! It's interesting talking to the Americans, to date we have not found anybody with a good opinion of Obama nor is there any apparent enthusiasm for Hillary Clinton as the next President.
... way to San Antonio, and we'll spend the weekend with our friends, Len and Fran. Then, Monday we're driving towards Phoenix with an overnight stop in Las Cruces, New Mexico. We'll be in Phoenix on Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 10. We'll have a day to do our laundry and repack in Phoenix before we leave Thursday morning with Marnie and Steve for Las Vegas to celebrate Steve's big 50th birthday party. ... website, this was one of those moments. I dropped her off at the front door and she scurried the burning pavement inside. Still in her swimsuit top and shorts, with a sunburn glowing deep red in the overcast, she entered the kingdom of underdressed humans. If being partially barefoot wouldn’t bring enough attention she could count on the burn.
