Southport, Queensland, Australia luvntravln... popped the bonnet, eye-guiding her to free the poor creature from its motorised torment. No, she said indignantly, you open it! Ever obedient, I slunk from the driver's seat and unlatched the bonnet. Nada. Zilch. Perplexed, we resumed our journey. The awful sounds refused to die. Every now and again we would hear the koala's tortured cries for help. "Did you change the setting on the Tom Tom," Vanessa suddenly demanded. No, I defendant ...
Logan, Australia johanneslToday I woke up reasonably early and decided to get ready before breafast. When Shawna woke up the two of us headed down for cornflakes. When we had finished eating, Gabriella asked if we would like to go on a walk with her. We said yes so Celeste and I headed up to clean our teeth and get Shawna and Kodi ready to come with us. We left the apartment at 8.30 and headed left down the beach. I started the walk by pushing Shawna and Kodi in the pram as they are too ...
Surfers Paradise, Australia bethfisher... to the Southport RSL club. When it arived at the caravan park I opened the door and we got inside. I was about to close the door but hris was adamant that the driver would close the door using the little button inside his cab. She said "Sit down Alan. The driver will close the door" as she dragged me to my seat. You can guess what's comimg. The driver shut down his engine, undid his seat belt, opened his door, exited the cab, walked around the bus and shut the ...
Southport, Australia alanandchris... to wearing it when I get back!! Hands off mum.. I know how you like your scarfs! haha!! Dermott is all moved in now and seems to feel comfortable with us, although he's slowly starting to take over the apartment and he smells like a boy... yuk! Thankfully he has his own en-suite though so we don't have to share a bathroom! He has brought a PSP and has loads of gadgets with it like a steering wheel and pedals for car racing games and a projector so he can have it projected on the ...
Coomera, Brisbane, Australia littlewiggle... to head out to Sea world on our first day. Anne treated us for Jo's upcoming Birthday. We had a nice day we saw shows with Dolphins, pirates, water skis and Sea Lions. Steve and Jo went on the roller coaster while Anne opted for the camera job, to Steve and Anne's joy the pirate ship was closed for maintenance but we did manage to get Anne on the log flumes. We walked around the Polar bear and shark enclosures before relaxing on the little ...
Surfers Paradise, Australia escapefromuk... time to explore the city. I headed for the tallest building I could see. It's called Q1 Tower and it is the tallest residential building in the world (323m). I paid $12 and took the elevator up to the observation deck. The elevator is the fastest in Australia and is travelling at 9 m/s. Later that day I bumped into Niklas and Nils that was on the same diving trip as us up in Cairns and that night we went on a pub crawl together. On the way home I had a kebab and it was ...
Surfers Paradise, Australia henrik.caesarI left Cairns, with a somewhat heavy heart, for Brisbane, the capital of Queensland and Australia's third city, to spend a day in trasit to Byron Bay. I liked the city, though I didn't go to any pubs or anything. I stayed in an area called Fortitude Valley, which was named by the settlers after the boat that brought them from England. The area is pretty cool, with clubs, pubs, cafes, and Chinatown. I spent most of my time walking ...
Brisbane, Australia aarondewitt... desperate and picked up the local paper and saw that a restaurant in the Manly suburb, where I first started, needed staff. I called and set up the interview. Once again, I moved back to Manly, which is about an hour away, for the interview and hoped to get the job. As soon as the interview was over I knew that I blew them away. The owner assured me that I was an ideal candidate for the job. They just had to do a few more interviews to do, and they would call me back in a ...
Brisbane, Australia rtwryanOur first stop of the trip, Southport. After 3 days sailing we arrive in the afternoon, weather is warm & sunny - sure beats the Sydney winter conditions. We're now in Queensland, so it's shorts & t-shirts.... We all agree we would rather spend more time at various islands rather than the hustle & bustle of the Gold Coast, so we only spend one night here at the Southport Yacht Club marina.
