Well our last full day here turned out to be quite special. Omnia still had leave from work so was able again to chauffeur us to yet another excursion! This time it was to see the Lady Lever Art Gallery, which is at Port Sunlight. This meant nothing to me, but sounded good....well, to start with Port Sunlight (think Sunlight soap) is just beautiful - it is a model garden village and conserved as a heritage site. It ...

    Wednesday 16th July - Bollington

Sue & Ken took us to Styal Quarry Bank Mill, where we had lunch & walked around the gardens, which are being restored. They are above & on the side of a, steep cliff above the millstream. In the evening we took them out to dinner in Wilmslow before returning to ...

Sad to leave our lovely cottage in Chipping Campden after almost a month - it was starting to feel like home! Thought we'd better have a look at Anne Hathaway's cottage in Stratford on Avon as it was on our way north & we were so pleased we did. This lovely thatched cottage is set in a beautiful garden & we were welcomed by a guide who was really informative. She ...
