We arrived in Surfers Paradise today and immediately realised the camper van was not going to be as easy as we first thought. The first issue is it's bank holiday weekend so it's incredibly busy. The free camping site we found on wikicamps doesn't actually exist. So we pulled over and spent an hour phoning round camp sites to try find somewhere to park our camper. ... odd people being very drunk and singing terribly! All good fun though! Day 4, we went whale watching and found two hump back whales swimming along and breaching every few minutes. Approx 50m away from our boat we watched them for around 45 minutes, breaching out the water and making huge splashes. A great sight to see and some great photos! On the way back to shore a group of dolphins swam around and in front of the boat for about 5 minutes, jumping out the water ...
